You Can Now Send Money Via PayPal On Skype

Microsoft has just added a Send Money feature to its video and IM app, Skype.
Starting from today Skype users in selected countries can now transfer money via PayPal to their friends and family while chatting on Skype.
To be able send money via PayPal on Skype, you'll need a Microsoft account and a PayPal account and will also make sure have the latest version of Skype installed on your iOS or Android device.
This is indeed a smart move by Microsoft considering the fact that Skype is also used by businesses and individuals to communicate with their customers and clients respectively. So with this feature, collecting money from any Skype client is a piece of cake.

Where is Skype Send Money supported?

In as much as this is a good news to behold, it's unfortunate that Africans don't get to experience this technology yet as Skype Send Money at the moment is only supported in 22 countries. The service was rolled out on August 2, 2017, to customers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Euro-Currency countries (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia).

Skype clients that are in the above countries can send money in US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds and Euros. Both the sender and receiver must be from one of the countries in which Send Money is supported.

Skype has however promised to add more countries in future. This is the part where we hope our dear Africa and Nigeria can be supported.

The Skype Send Money feature only available on mobile devices and you can access it by swiping right on your chat window and tapping the Send Money button. There is a Skype documentation on this new service so you can read more on it.
