How To Read 100 Books In A Month

Yes! I am sure you are wondering what the above title is all about... how the heck can a human being read 100 books in a month especially in this present times when social media and its likes takes a handful of our time?

I also wondered myself and asked the same question. But the truth is this, reading these days no longer require the old ways of reading the hard way. Today, what we have now is what I call "Smart Reading" just like your smartphone, smartwatch and the rest of them.
I am not really the type of guy that can sit down and read a 300 or 400 page novel without skipping. There are so much one can do online these days and even achieve better and smarter results compared to the old good days.

So again the question begs... how can a human being read 100 books in a month?

Let me begin by telling you that it's 100% possible and as a matter of fact a woman did it and there is a proof for it which you will see at the later part of this article.

Today, we have seen what apps can do, starting from apps that can help you plan your life to the ones that can do the opposite. At the end it all boils down to using the right app.

So here is the secret, you can read even more than 100 books in a month right on your smartphone with the help of an app called Blinkist.

Blinkist App is big ideas from 2,000+ Best Selling nonfiction books, transformed into powerful packs you can read or listen to in just 15 minutes.

The Blinklist App picks and summarizes the main or key content/message/information an author of a book wrote in a book. These key information can be read or listen to in an audio format.

These nonfiction books are in most cases above 400 pages or less. Imagine telling someone you read a 400-page book in just 15 minutes! Blinkist helps you do that and that's how you can comfortably read up to 100 books in 30 or 31 days.

Reading a book on the Blinkist app however, is like a snack for my brain. I’m able to get the main learnings from a 400-page book in minutes. I’m happy that I’m doing something productive with my time. Everyday, I wake up wiser than the day before, said Therese, a business development manager living in Berlin, Germany.

Here is a little practical to show you how you can read up to 100 books in a month using the Blinkist App.

I am sure you are familiar with the Napoleon Hill best selling "Think and Grow Rich" nonfiction book? I used the Blinkist app to read the book in just the said minutes.

Here is how it works:

Launch the app and then choose from the book category or simply type and search the book you want to read if you already know the title and the app will launch it for you.

Like I earlier mentioned, I used Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill to drive home my point.

Below is what the first page the app will load for you looks like. In this page you can either decide to read the key points or listen to the key points in audio.

This page will also summarize the author's mindset for the book, the copies sold, who should read the book and then the author's bio.
Once you have decided to read and tap on Read, the app will highlight the key points and areas of interest in the book in a list form. You can tap on the points one after the other to read the key notes. This shouldn't take more than 2 minutes to read because the points are well simplified.

The last in the key points or notes is always the "Final Summary." This is where the app will summarize for you the main message of the book and some action plans you can take.
Now the above is reading the main messages, you can read the book in fewer minutes by listening to the audio which is also broken down in 12 different tracks just like you have 12 key messages in the case of Read.

Now imagine how good it feels reading a 238 page nonfiction novel in a matter of minutes. Let's say with self challenge you decide to read about 3 books a day for 30 or 31 days using Blinkist that will leave you with around 93 books and then with more motivation you decide to read or listen to up to 4 books a day for a month that will leave you with around 120+ books in a month.

It's no magic, it's something you can achieve with the same mindset as Therese and if what she did challenged you, then get the Blinkist app installed on your smartphone and start your reading adventure!
